Cameroon Auto, cars “Made In Cameroon” [PHOTOS]

On Thursday, April 20, 2017, was held in Yaounde, the Auto Show “China Cameroon Auto Show”. The main objective of this event was to present the “Made In Cameroon” cars for the Cameroonian public and the CEMAC market.

These vehicles, called “Cameroon Automotive” or “Cameroon Auto”, will be fully assembled and assembled at the industrial-port complex in the city of Kribi. This project follows the signing of an agreement between Cameroon’s Investment Promotion Agency (API) and Cameroon Automotive Holding Company SA (CAHC), on the construction of an assembly and installation unit, Assembly of heavy and light vehicles.

According to the Africa News website, “through this project, the Cameroonian government aims to reduce its imports of vehicles by offering a range of choices to targets such as senior civil servants, students, business leaders, members And Parliament’s staff … If this project actually materializes, Cameroon will become the first state in Central Africa to assemble vehicles on its own. ”

  • Great progress! This will help boost the economy and will help employ some Cameroonians. I love this kind of Engineering/technological progress in my country. Hope that this industry grows fast to satisfy the market in CEMAC. Am proud to be Cameroonian.
